Dr Funkakpo Elizabeth Ogbechie graduated with an MBBS from the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, Nigeria, and had her residency training in Family Medicine at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Lagos, during which she was awarded the Alaba Kalejaiye Prize for the best candidate in Clinical Part 1 FMCFM examination.
She is a Fellow of the West African College of Physicians and is an Associate Fellow of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria.
Her areas of interest include Geriatric Medicine and Infectious disease as well as Global Health and her research interests are in Geriatric Medicine and Global Health issues.
Dr Ogbechie is BLS, ACLS and ALSO trained, and is a member of the following professional organizations;
- The Society of Family Physicians of Nigeria (SOFPON)
- The North American Primary Care Research Group (NAPCRG)
- The World Association of Family Doctors (WONCA)
